The CDS Accounting Coordinator and Analyst will be responsible for the financial health of the department through analyzing data and long range planning. The CDS Accounting Coordinator performs accounting work, supervises accounting clerks assigned to the CDS program, and the functioning of accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll as it relates to the completion of all financial reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Analyze and report on current financial status. Develop financial models through benchmarking and analysis.
  2. Forecasts quarterly and annual profit and growth of the CDS Department.
  3. Coordinate with the Vice President and CFO for long term financial planning.
  4. Assure that accurate and timely billing is taking place to state and counties for payroll and other expenses.
  5. Analyze accounting systems, identify any inaccuracies and recommend improvement measures.
  6. Monitors the CDS accounts receivable and assists staff with the resolution of all issues.
  7. Manage Accounts Receivable Aging reports to ensure collection on outstanding invoices.
  8. Responsible for collections. Document and enter notes related to the collections system.
  9. Engage as part of CDS Management to foster innovation and growth.
  10. Work in tandem with all CDS Accounting Coordinators to facilitate staff growth, satisfaction, recognition, appreciation and build a strong/cohesive team atmosphere.
  11. Conduct the hiring process, orientation, appropriate training and supervision of assigned staff members.
  12. Support and promote customer service and customer satisfaction as integral parts of the CDS program.
  13. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  14. Functions as a conduit for CDS for all relevant laws, regulations, or rules related to FEA Programs including Minnesota Statutes, DOL, IRS, and CMS.
  15. Responsible for other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university plus three years related work experience including general ledger, accounts receivable and payable, payroll and supervisory experience or 10-plus years of related experience.
  • Expert or Advanced level in Excel

  • Strong time management, prioritization and organization ability.
  • Sound written and oral business communication skills.
  • Demonstrate integrity, accountability and adherence to standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct.
  • Operate standard office equipment, including: personal computer, office telephone system, wireless communication, photocopiers, scanning devices and other routine equipment.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (including, Word, Excel, and Outlook); keyboarding skills (including speed and accuracy); and basic mathematical and fundamental accounting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate teamwork approach, compassion, and respect toward others.
